Course Overview


The Ashtanga Vinyasa Training Course [A.V.T.C] is aimed at producing qualified, trained and holistic Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teaching professionals. Yoga deals with the physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing of an individual. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is an ancient system of Hatha Yoga that was taught by Shri. Vamana Rishi in Yoga Korunta. This text was imparted to Sri T. Krishnamacharya in the early 1900’s by his guru Shri. Rama Mohana Brahmachari and later passed down to Shri. Pattabi Jois. This style of yoga is physically demanding as it involves continuous series of postures. The practice produces internal heat and sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, flexibility, stamina, strong body and calm mind. The aspects emphasized by Shri Pattabi Jois as main components of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga are 1. Asana 2. Vinyasa 3. Breath 4. Drishti 5. Bandha.



Course Learning Outcomes:


At the end of the course student will be able to,


  • Teach and train the individuals Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in mysore style
  • Teach prevention and maintenance of disorder.
  • Learn the teaching skills of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
  • Understand philosophy, history and development of Raja Yoga and Hatha Yoga.
  • To bring all round personality development of the students at all levels of their personality.
  • Revive and promote the ancient Gurukula System of yoga education.


  • Eligibility Prerequisites:


    PUC or Equivalent or SSLC with Yoga Experience.

    The main objective of Ashtanga Vinyasa Training Course [A.V.T.C] is to enable the student to teach the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga to the general public. The course involves both theoretical, practical and practice of teaching aspects of yogic science. The A.V.T.C course covers the theoretical subjects such as philosophy, history, development of Raja Yoga. Course involves advanced practical training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and organization and teaching Skills of yogic activities. Course also covers study of lifestyle changes and dietary practices to enhance the healing process.

    Course Duration:

    The Post-Graduation Diploma in Yoga Therapy course is for ONE YEAR

    Note:

  • There shall be two contact programs for the students in an academic year.
  • There shall be a university examination at the end of the course. Examination fee will be notified by VYE&RI and WYA separately.
  • Minimum marks for passing is 50 in each paper (with minimum 40 marks in external and 10 marks in internal assessment)
  • Declaration of the result shall be as per the VYE&RI and WYA rules and regulations.
  • The Institute will award certificates and medals to the students who have successfully completed a degree course at convocation ceremony every year.
